Dash
1. (noun) A symbol used in writing to connect elements.
2. (verb) To finish or move off hastily.
Tonight Cris wrote his first letter to Santa. Roughly it looked like the above (plus one whole page to write the date and one whole page to write his last name-so Santa wouldn't be confused which Cristopher it was). During this lovely process, which took an hour, we learned about what a dash is. He was so excited to have a way to justify moving to the next line before your word is finished. And I love that one of the main things he wanted was a simple candy cane.
Connor's letter was dictated to us and he wanted all of us to get to meet Santa...oh yeah and to have "throwy stars of ice." These are weapons of Lego ninjas. So we have been dashing to help Santa out and finish up some life size ones along with all the other last minute details. I think this is the part where all parents wish they had at least one more week till Christmas.
